There are a few light marks in the top of the barrel and slide, the underside of the barrel, and in the left side of the barrel and frame. There is extremely light thinning on the edges of the slide and frame, and tiny spots of finish loss along the front left edge of the grip. The grip screw shows very light marks from a screwdriver. Overall, this pistol rates in about Excellent condition. Mechanics: The action functions correctly. The slide locks back on an empty magazine and there is a slide release on the left side of the frame. There is also a manual safety on the left side of the frame. The magazine floorplate is marked “COLT CAL. The magazine shows minimal wear and is in Excellent condition. Our Assessment: This is a Colt Woodsman 2nd Series Match Target Model pistol. It has a heavy slab sided barrel, adjustable sights and the left side of the frame mounted magazine release characteristic of the 2nd Series (The Colt Woodsman pistols changed the location of the magazine release from the butt to the left side of the frame and then back to the butt for the 1st, 2nd and 3rd Series – We guess they were going to keep changing it until they got it right).
